Jennifer Hudson, who won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar is now assuming the role of brand ambassador of representing a perfume.

Cosmetic giant Avon announced that it has signed Hudson as a spokeswoman for its Imari brand and new fragrance, Imari Seduction. Hudson, whose dreams of fame and glam had almost shattered after she finished seventh on American Idol in 2004 said that,

This is an honour for me and very flattering.

25-year-old Hudson’s role in her first movie Dreamgirls as the snubbed lead singer of a female trio got her the Oscar fame. The actress who appeared very refined in her debut movie only also picked up Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards for her impressive performance.

Her success as a perfume ambassador comes immediately after her Oscar triumph and I’m sure there will be no looking back for her now. She is the latest addition to the list of A-listers who have lent their names to fragrances, with market research firm NPD Group claiming that celebrity endorsed fragrances make up almost a quarter of the top 100 women’s fragrance brands last year.

Avon claims that Imari had been its best selling fragrance since its launch 20 years ago. Revealing that Imari Seduction will go on sale in August, Avon executive vice president Liz Smith said

We believe that our Avon representatives and their customers will be truly inspired by Jennifer’s dream-come-true success story.
